Special Council Meeting
May 26, 2009

Meeting called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Tucker at 4:00pm.

Sign Permit Moratorium: City Attorney Tydings stated that the Sign Ordinance was last amended in 2007.  This new Ordinance will place a moratorium on any applications for permits for large signs (measuring over 200 square feet in size) a period of evaluation and revision of the City’s sign regulations.   The moratorium becomes effective immediately upon adoption.  The moratorium shall be in effect until such new or revised ordinance is adopted or for 90 days, whichever comes first.

Motion made by Councilman Smith to adopt Ordinance as written; seconded by Councilman Wright.  Motion carried.  See Ordinance 2009-2.

Executive Session:  Motion made by Councilman Wright to enter into executive session (litigation) at 4:10 pm; seconded by Councilman Andrews.  Motion carried.  

Executive session adjourned at 4:26 pm; Governing Authority reconvened.

Affidavit & Resolution Executive Session held on May 26, 2009: City Attorney Tydings read resolution.  Motion made by Councilman Wright to adopt as written; seconded by Councilman Smith.  Motion carried.   Affidavit executed by Mayor Pro Tem Tucker and notarized by City Clerk Bedingfield.  Affidavit & Resolution attached and made part of official minutes.

Mayor Pro Tem Tucker entertained motion to adjourn.  Motion made by Councilman Wright to adjourn meeting at 4:27pm; seconded by Councilman Smith.  Motion carried.
