Pre Council Meeting
September 1, 2009

Meeting called to order by Mayor Harold M. Edwards at 6:00pm.

Present were Mayor Harold M. Edwards, Jr., Councilman Randall Wright, Councilman Edward Tucker and Councilman Robert Smith, Jr.  Also present City Administrator Patrick Eidson and City Attorney Rebecca Tydings.   Councilman Cameron Andrews arrived at 6:50pm.

Affidavit & Resolution Executive Session August 27, 2009:  Mayor read resolution.  Motion made by Councilman Wright to adopt Resolution as written; seconded by Councilman Tucker.  Motion carried.  City Attorney Tydings read affidavit, executed by Mayor Edwards and notarized by City Clerk Bedingfield.    Resolution and Affidavit attached and made part of official minutes.  

Les Still Concert Ad Sponsorship:  Mayor Edwards stated that last the year the city bought a full page advertisement.  Mayor is seeking approval to purchase ad cost $100.00; expenditure will come out of the Mayor’s discretionary fund.   Motion made by Councilman Wright to approve expenditure for advertisement $100.00; seconded by Councilman Tucker.  Motion carried.

Executive Session:  Motion made by Councilman Wright to enter into executive session to discuss personnel matters and future acquisition of land at 6:10pm; seconded by Councilman Tucker.  Motion carried.  
Executive Session adjourned at 7:03pm.  
Motion made by Councilman Andrews to reconvene; seconded by Councilman Tucker.  Motion carried.   

Affidavit and Resolution Executive Session held on September 1, 2009:  City Attorney Tydings read resolution.  Motion made by Councilman Smith to adopt resolution as written; seconded by Councilman Tucker.   Motion carried.  

Mayor Edwards adjourned meeting at 6:50pm.
